Només has de donar habitació per dormir i esmorzar.

He d’anar a recollir el meu convidat a l’aeroport o a l’estació?

Puc acollir si no parlo cap idioma estranger?

I tant!

GUESTS

What can I expect from my host family? What should I pay for?

Our host families will provide you with a room and breakfast. Lunch, dinner and transfers are not included.

If the family can, they might pick you up at the airport but we haven’t asked them to do so. We’re receiving offers from other people who want to collaborate, and we’ll do our best to make sure you’re accompanied to all the activities. We’ll inform you in more detail nearer to the date of your arrival.

In any case, we’re sure you’ll enjoy our typical Catalan hospitality!

How do I contact my host family?

We’ll send you and your host family an email with each other’s contact details so that you can sort out the logistics related to your arrival.

How will I communicate with my hosts?

If you don’t speak Catalan, we’ll do everything possible to make sure you’re placed with a host family that speaks at least one of the languages you speak.

What activities are planned?

At Foreign Friends we’re preparing three main activities: a visit to an institutional building in Catalonia (e.g. government/parliament building), a talk on the internationalisation of the Catalan situation and, of course, the DIADA celebration itself. We’d love it if you could bring a flag of your country for the DIADA.

Several civil entities such as the ANC, Òmnium Cultural and CDRs are also preparing interesting activities; we’ll inform you about them in due course.

Can I stay for longer?

Our hosts will offer you their home until 12 September. If you wish to stay longer, you’ll have to make alternative arrangements.

How can I contact the organisers once I’m in Catalonia?

Please use the email address displayed on our website for this purpose. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible through the email or phone number you provided on registering.

Catalans are welcoming, respectful and open to people from all over the world. We’re really looking forward to sharing our Diada and culture with you.

Can any foreigner who wants to spend the DIADA with @Foreign_Cat register?

No. We’re inviting our foreign friends who’ve shown an interest in Catalonia and who’ve worked in solidarity with the Catalan people. This is our tribute to them, our way of thanking them personally. So the event is by invitation only.

How do I register?

Please send a DM (direct message) to our Twitter account @Foreign_Cat or an email to our email address friends@diadaforeign.cat. We’ll get back to you via DM or e-mail, with a link that will enable you to choose whether you want to stay with a family or just join in the activities.
